| Our Mission Is To Assist All In Need Who Seek Our Help Our main mission is to HELP THOSE IN NEED TO HELP THEMSELVES. To lean on Jesus & not hand-outs. Our Outreach Ministry provides assistance with utility bills, rent, prescription medications, transportation to and from medical appointments, etc. These services are often provided on a crisis basis when utilities are scheduled to be terminated, Landlords are attempting to evict someone or the individual cannot afford their prescription medications. The above is just a basic outline of what we do. However, we work with many area Churches, Social Services agencies and other community organizations to assist the client with becoming self-sufficient. In working together with other providers in the area we are able to assist in much greater ways. Projects such as building handicap ramps at someone's home, finding employment, teaching financial budgeting and planning and much more. We also offer Christian Counseling to individuals or couples. Valley Christian Outreach also works with clients to locate Mental Health & Substance Abuse services. In these types of situations, we work closely with local, state & nationwide resources to provide the level of assistance that the client may need. We focus a great deal of time in assisting the homeless. By working with other agencies and Churches we make it a priority to get these individuals & families off the streets and into a Transitional Living Program or sometimes directly into their own apartment or house. In doing this, we are successful due to the tremendous amount of team work between Valley Christian Outreach and other Homeless providers in the area. Although the average citizen in our community is not aware of the homeless problem in our area, it is a TREMENDOUS problem. The most alarming issue with our homeless population is the number of American Veterans who are sleeping in cars or in self-made tent communities in the outlined and rural areas. Another sad point is the number of children that are homeless as well. 40% of local children cannot afford the price of school lunches. There is a waiting list and WE must fill the gap. We also minister to the spiritual needs as well. If you do not have a Bible, a home church, a Pastor or a solid relationship with Jesus Christ, then you REALLY NEED us to introduce you to the life changing experiences that happens when you come to know our LORD and SAVIOR.
